What free means here

Static QR codes are free without limits: no watermark, no trial period, no signup, and you can use them commercially. They are generated in your browser, so they cost us almost nothing to provide, and they keep working even if our site disappears.

Dynamic codes use our servers to redirect and count scans. During launch they are free with a cap on how many you can keep active; the pricing page has the current numbers.

Watch out for free generators that expire

Some tools create a dynamic code and call it free, then stop redirecting when a trial ends, which leaves printed codes dead. A static code cannot do that because the content is inside the pattern.
